About The Boys' Brigade

The Boys' Brigade has been going for over 125 years and one million children and young people around the world are members of The Boys' Brigade.

BB is open to all children and young people aged from 5 to 18 of any faith and background. Above all, we seek to make a positive contribution to the lives of young people through the programme of activities that we offer young people.

Our programmes are balanced to provide every child and young person opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities, learn new skills and develop existing skills.

Whithaugh Park Camp 2011

Whithaugh Park CampThe Company and Senior Section have have started the session with their camp. This year we went to Whithaugh Park in the Scottish Borders, where the boys stayed in log cabins. Activities included over the weekend were sports, swimming, Zip Wire, Open canoeing and mountain biking.

32 boys and 3 staff had a great time ... all be it may took a day or so to catch up on much needed sleep ... (probably take us longer to dry out after the amount of rain that fell on the Saturday, rain which however did not bother us one bit .....!)

1st Stewarton Boys' Brigade Support Clic Sargent

BBs And Clic Sargent Cheque1st Stewarton Boys' Brigade Company and Senior Section during this session decided to raise money by putting aside some of their tuck shop money for a charity.

Basically instead of spending all their money they would put their loose change in to a charity. Each week the money built up and the sum of £200 was raised for their selected charity which was Clic Sargent.

Clic Sargent is a charity which specialises in the care for children and young people with cancer and their families. The boys visited the facility and met the staff. Picture taken with some of the boys presenting the cheque to the staff at CLIC Sargent's Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick. (More information on the charity can be found at www.clicsargent.org.uk.

Our Leaders

The Boys' Brigade enjoys an excellent reputation for providing a safe environment for its children and young people to enjoy activities. All our adult leaders follow clear safety guidelines and undertake training appropriate to their role.

The BB's 'Code of Conduct' is a pocket sized card that all leaders working in The Boys' Brigade have a copy of. It contains information about how to report concerns or allegations of abuse and a code of behaviour for all adults working in The Boys' Brigade.

We also encouarge our volunteer leaders to undertake further training throughout their time in the BB to enhance their skills and understanding of childrens and youth work.

All of our leaders go through a proceedure of registration and as part of this will complete a Criminal Record Disclosure Check.
