Cathy Jamieson has held the Kilmarnock and Loudoun seat for the Labour party in the 2010 general election.

Labour won this Westminster seat with 52.5% of the vote, the took SNP 26%, the Conservatives 14.2% and the Liberal Democrats 7.3%. The turnout in Kilmarnock and Loudoun was 62.8%.

 

With 58 of 59 Scottish results declared, all the political parties have retained their Scottish seats and those seats that labour lost in by-elections since 2005 they have regained. So, in Scotland Labour has 41 seats, Lib Dems 10, SNP 6 and Conservatives 1. Argyle and Bute is expected to declare its result around lunch time today.

 

In the UK as a whole, with 60 seats still to declare, there has been a 5.4% swing to Conservatives who look like being the largest party in Westminster but without an overall majority.
