Two More Trophies For Stewarton Drama Group - 10 May 2010

Laura McPherson won the coveted trophy for Best Actress in the East Kilbride Repertory Theatre Club's One-Act Play Festival for her performance in 'Becoming Maggie' on Wednesday 5 May. Quite an achievement, given strong competition from performances of a very high standard across the 12 plays performed throughout the week from across West and Central Scotland.

'Becoming Maggie' was placed second overall in the Festival. The adjudicator, Dr Paul Dougall, praised this new play, written by Nancy McPherson, and rated the piece as "an outstandingly good production with beautifully modulated and nuanced performances from John Allardice and Laura McPherson".

The addition of these two new trophies mean that Stewarton Drama Group have now been awarded a total of 12 trophies this year, between their two one act plays 'Becoming Maggie' and 'The Night I Danced With Cyd Charisse' and their full length play 'Ladies Day'!
