Top Awards for Ladies Day - 02 Mar 2010
Stewarton Drama Group received three awards on Thursday last week for its production of 'Ladies' Day' which was performed at the Stewarton Area Centre last May.

The awards, announced at the SCDA Festival of One Act Plays, included "The Muir Shield" - Winning Full Length Play in Ayrshire District 2009.
'Ladies' Day', by Amanda Whittington, was produced for Stewarton Drama Group by Nancy McPherson who described the play as "a sparkling, contemporary comedy which offers adventures and startling revelations and most importantly is guaranteed to have the audience smiling from start to finish. You could say it's a real winner in its field!"
Stewarton's production of 'Ladies' Day' certainly proved to be a winner in its field, also scooping "The Jack Ireland Trophy" for the highest marks in production for a Full Length Play in Ayrshire District 2009 and also winning "The Outram Rose Bowl" for the Team Placed Second for a Full Length Play in West of Scotland 2009.

The prize winning cast were Debbie Darby, Linda Wilson, Alison Barr, Laura McPherson, John Allardice, Johnnie McPherson, Jim Goldie, Roy Graham, David Robertson and Walter Findlay.
These awards will be added to the Drama Group's collection as they also came home with five awards for their two entries into the One Act Play Festival including trophies for first and second place in Ayrshire District.
