'The Farmyard's Got Talent', Stewarton's fourth Arty and The Monkey Tales Production went down a storm for two weeks this August.
Each week saw children aged between 3 and 8 years come together to create a musical drama story starring Arty the Monkey and his cheeky friend E. Raser. After only five sessions the children performed the musical for an audience of family and friends at The Church of Our Lady and St. John, Lainshaw Street.
The story, written by Gills McDaniel, saw Arty and E. Raser as judges on a talent show choosing farmyard animals to star in new musical. All was going well untill E Raser decided to erase the animals voices! Arty and the Paint Rangers, who were acting as presenters for the show, saved the day with the help of Arty's Magic computer Backpack...
Throughout each week, the talented children had learned their lines and their songs and dances with Naomi Allison, from The Music Box, and worked on scenery and costumes as well as pictures to put in their own book of the story with Gills McDaniel from Arty's.
Gills and Naomi were assisted by Heather Hart and Sarah Allison. Steven Wylie created the scenery and Matthew Allison was photographer and video cameraman.
Plans are now underway for the next project which will run for five Saturday mornings in the run up to the Christmas holidays. Details will be published on Stewartononline as soon as they are available.
In the meantime, check out the regular Arty's Classes, Thursdays at 10am or 1pm for arts and crafts and creative fun and The Music Box classes, Fridays from 2.30pm for music and musical drama from tots to teens.
