Stewarton Annick 97s v Glaston Match Report

Stewarton flew out the traps in the first half of this one sided match. Five minutes in to the game and recent signing Moffat had slotted the ball past the Galston keeper after neat work by McPherson in the midfield. Moffat's strike partner Carruth added to the tally 3 minutes later. Within the next 10 minutes Moffat and Carruth had doubled their tally following some excellent play from the whole team.

Moffat then went ahead of his strike partner finishing off a great move down the right by Williamson and McLean. Mclean added to the score line after slotting home from a tight angle. After some excellent tackling and passing from Beveridge and McPherson, Nesbitt slotted home from close range. Shortly after a crossed ball in to the box was coolly headed home by Fraser. Before the first half ended Carruth and Moffat had grabbed their hat tricks with some lovely interplay between them both. Beveridge, McPherson, Fraser and Ronald had dominated the midfield with Beveridge being a stand out, exhibiting some neat footwork and passing. Stewarton went in to the break 9-0 up.

Four Changes were made in the second half which affected the run of play and the game became a damp squib for the next 20 minutes. However this period allowed our defence to wake up with Williamson, Muir and Nesbitt mopping up everything coming their way. Donnachie strolled through this match marshalling his defence brilliantly exhibiting intelligence and experience beyond his years. Millar had a kip for he had little to do!

The last ten minutes of the game saw most of the starting line up re-take the field where Moffat and Carruth finished off the day with another goal apiece.
