This year's annual Christmas Concert took place at Stewarton Academy on Thursday 17 December and included music and drama from young people from S1 to S6 as well as a contribution from youngsters in Primary 7.

The concert was well attended and started with a performance by the Primary 7 band who have only been playing together since October when they enjoyed their kick start success. The Stewarton Academy Junior Band and Senior Band also took part in the concert.

In addition to these well-known school bands, the audience enjoyed performances by the school's Jazz Band and Guitar Ensemble, three choirs, and a pipe solo. The Dance Group also participated again.

New to the Christmas concert format were two drama pieces from 1B and 1C dynamic learning who treated the audience to 'A Scottish Journey' and an excerpt from 'Oliver!'

Once again the young people excelled themselves and the delighted audience will be looking forward to future Stewarton Academy concerts and productions - not least the school show 'Fame' which is scheduled for 15, 16 and 17 June 2010.
