St. Columba's Parish Church News - 27 Jun 2010
All-Age Service, Joint Summer Services and More
The end of Summer Term Sunday Club All-age Service & Prize-giving in the Hall on Sunday 27th June was a huge success attracting many from the congregation and community. After an action-packed and highly participative Service, most stayed for refreshments ... and to purchase the special rice from Africa, the profits from which will educate a child for one year.
Our joint Summer Services with our friends at John Knox Parish Church start on 11th July. For the first three of these Services, St. Columba's will be closed to allow the Minister, Rev. George Lind to lead joint worship there. For the following three Sundays (starting 1st August), John Knox Parish Church will close to allow the Minister, Rev. Gavin Niven, to lead joint worship in St. Columba's. During every Joint Service there will be a Children's "Spot" in Church followed by a Children's Summer Fun Club in the Hall of whichever Church we are meeting.
The 4.30 p.m. Stillness Service will still take place in St. Columba's despite being closed in the morning.
Thursday 29th July sees the Manse Garden (tub!) Party where tickets will be £3 towards the Church Development Fund.
