The Stewarton Bands Support Group have launched a brand new website. You can visit the website to keep up to date with SBSGroup news, find contact details for SBSGroup committee members and to find out how you can support the group.

The Stewarton Bands Support Group held it's AGM last month and the main issue arising from the meeting concerned the group's commitment to raise at least £4000 each year to supplement the East Ayrshire Council instrumental tuition budget.

Traditionally this extra funding has come from families paying for tuition privately. Now this budget can be shared by all participants of the band system and should be easily achieved. However, the AGM heard that only around 20 families have signed up to make regular donations and a handful more have made one-off contributions. This equates to only around one in four families contributing and the SBSGroup urgently needs more participants to sign up to the friends and families scheme which was launched in the summer.

In order to address the shortfall which currently exists in the SBSGroup fundraising target the AGM proposed that a fundraising committee be formed. The first meeting of this committee took place last Monday but it's not too late to get involved simply contact Nicola McNaught or Brigid Allen.
