Stewarton Drama Group's production of "The Night I Danced with Cyd Charisse" was placed 3rd in the West of Scotland at the conclusion of the three night festival, winning The Scott Bowl. This was a real achievement against fierce competition from some wonderful plays!

The team also won The Stuart Hood Trophy for Best Stage Decor. Again - great recognition for all the work that the club put into the set design, set building, props, costumes, sound and lighting.

Only the top 2 teams go on to the Scottish Finals in Pitlochry, but the adjudicator said that he had a real stuggle separating the top 3 plays (out of 9) which he said were all excellent.

"The Night I Danced with Cyd Charisse" and "Becoming Maggie" will both compete again in another Festival - the East Kilbride Repertory Theatre Club One Act Play Festival between Tue 4th and Sat 8th May 2010 (draw for slots still to take place).

And Stewarton Drama Group have begun rehearsals for their Spring Production, "Allo Allo", which will be performed at the Stewarton Area Centre on Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 May. Tickets are already on sale for this production of the hit BBC comedy.
