The concert was a tremendous success with the choir singing to packed houses each night. The evenings' entertainment included full choir numbers, small ensembles and solos and music of many different styles. The accompanist was Jennie Gillespie.

Now conducted by Judith Clements (former pupil of Stewarton Academy and graduate of the RSAMD), the Mamas and Papas choir was originally formed from parents of members of the Stewarton Academy Bands. The choir has since taken on a life of its own and this annual concert is the highlight of their annual calendar.

No longer restricted in its membership to parents, the choir now includes young adults and grandparents among its number and the only qualification required to join is a desire to sing. New members are always welcome and the next practice is Thursday 22nd April at 7.30pm at Stewarton Academy.
