The Stewarton and District Historical Society resume their regular meetings at the beginning of September and their syllabus for 2010 - 2011 is now available on their webpage.

The Society meet on the first Monday of each month at John Knox Church Hall at 7.30pm. Visiting speakers give talks on a wide range of topics both of local and wider historical interest. Members and visitors are always very welcome.

The first meeting of this session on Monday 06 September will be addressed by Mrs G. O'Donnell whose talk is entitled: "The Life of Robert Louis Stevenson". Other topics to look forward to this year include Costume and Dress at Dalgarven Museum, The City of Petra and Local Place Names and their Origins.
