Stewarton Academy Senior Wind Ensemble took part in the finals of the first Scottish Concert Band Festival today and have added yet another Gold Award to their collection.

The band, under the direction of Alan Friel, played Antares, by Richard Saucedo, Ballad For Benny, by Phillip Sparke, and At Dawn They Slept, by Jay Bocook, at the RSAMD this afternoon and were delighted to be awarded Gold Plus for their performance.

Alan Friel also directed Stewarton Winds at the festival - Stewarton Winds is a new concert band formed largely from former members of the Stewarton Academy Bands. Stewarton Winds also picked up a Gold Plus award for their performance.
