Festival Festive Fun - 10 Dec 2009
Once again Stewarton's Yuletide Festival has been a great success enjoyed by hundreds of local residents and visitors.
With the streets closed to traffic from 6pm till 10pm and stalls and entertainment as well as most shops opening late there was plenty for revellers to enjoy.
Live Music

Among this year's highlights were the Lainshaw and Nether Robertland Primary School choirs who sang Chrismas songs and carols in the marquee in Avenue Square, a group from the Stewarton Academy Senior Wind Ensemble playing more Christmas music outside the new factory shop and the annual nativity play at John Knox Church.
Festive Fayre

Live music was also enjoyed at Thirst and at Boots. Many local traders were giving away festive fayre including mouth-watering mince pies at the Deli on The Corner and splendid sausage rolls at William Allan and Son. And as usual Santa was able to attend the event with the help of Stewarton's Round Table.
Stewarton Academy's Amnesty International Group were giving away homebaking from their stall on Main Street while collecting donations and telling people about the work of the charity. The Boys Brigade, Stewarton Annick Football Club and Stewarton Woodlands Action Trust (SWAT) were also out and about.
Fire Engine
The Strathclyde mounted police and Stewarton's fire engine were present for the evening proving most popular with children and adults alike.
