Planning permission has been granted for the building of an extension to Candy Chace, the coffee shop on the High Street. Building work started at the beginning of November and is now well underway. The plans include a new dining area at the rear of the shop and a fully-enclosed and sheltered patio area. The new café will have more than double the current number of tables.

Outside work will be completed by Christmas and the shop will close for the internal refurbishment on 24th December. This will involve extending the current kitchen, creating a new serving area and changing some of the existing seating arrangements. The café will re-open at the end of January 2009. In the meantime, it's business as usual.
