The Community Council was pleased to be informed that a contract for the design and build of the Area Sports Centre at Standalane is expected to be in place during October of this year. In this event, work will commence in December 2010 for completion in January 2012. The EAC has decided that the road traffic access to the new facility should be by means of an ‘upgraded' road layout from the Kilwinning Road.

Meanwhile, the work to provide an additional town centre car-park in Hamilton Gardens is well underway; and it is understood that the project to provide a new ‘park-and-ride' car-park at Stewarton railway station is now at the final approval stage for work that will take 16 weeks to complete.
