The Community Council was pleased to be informed that planning permission for the building of the Area Sports Centre at Standalane has been granted. It is expected that the Centre will be completed in January 2012.

The Community Council had previously been informed that a contract for the design and build of the Centre was expected to be in place during October of this year, with work commencing in December 2010 for completion in January 2012. The EAC has decided that the road traffic access to the new facility should be by means of an ‘upgraded' road layout from the Kilwinning Road.
