The speaker at the February meeting will be Ms Jill McColl from North Ayrshire Archives, Irvine. Her illustrated talk will be 'The Glasgow Vennel - not just Burns'. This is the street in Irvine where Burns lodged for a time, but it has also many other historic buildings with their own stories to tell, including the Heckling Shop where Burns worked until it was burned down. It was also the site of the Buchanites place of worship, and was the main road from Irvine to Stewarton and thence to Glasgow in the 18th century. As always all members and friends will be welcome.

The Society would also like to apologise for the cancellation of the January meeting due to the dreadful weather conditions, but it is hoped to hold the Members' Night at a later date, when members can tell their own stories and tales about Stewarton and District.
